Scotland's biggest car boot sale to continue

Scotland's largest car boot sale has had its licence extended by three years - provided that it continues to crackdown on the sale of counterfeit goods.

The car boot sale at Errol Airfield on the Firth of Tay between Perth and Dundee has been trading for 15 years and attracts up to 10,000 visitors on a busy Sunday. However, local trading standards officials and the police had complained about the open sale of counterfeit goods such as pirate CDs and DVDs and the boot fair was in danger of being closed down completely.

However, Perth and Kinross Council’s licensing committee has granted the Errol Airfield car boot sale organisers a three year extension to their licence on the condition that more is done to clampdown on traders selling counterfeit goods.
