Banovallum School car boots move to Sundays
Banovallum School in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, has moved its monthly car boot sale to Sunday after the local council turned down the PTA's application for Saturday sales.
Banovallum School PTA has been holding regular car boot sales on Saturdays for the past 16 years to raise funds for the school, but East Lindsey District Council turned down its application for Saturday car boot sales this year.
The decision was taken in line with other councils who are attempting to protect market towns by refusing to grant permission for other markets, including boot sales, to take place on the same day within six and two thirds of a mile of a traditional market. Horncastle Market is held on Thursdays and Saturdays in the town.
The PTA have now announced new Sunday dates for 2007, with the next car boot sale being held on Sunday the 22nd of April. Other dates can be found in the school's listing on the Lincolnshire boot fairs page.
