WWII bomb closes Devon boot fair

The discovery of an unexploded mortar bomb led brought a swift end to a boot fair in Lympstone, Devon, last month.

The eight inch long mortar bomb was found by workers on a nearby construction site and led to the evacuation of the immediate area.

Car booters quickly packed up their belongings and left the site along with bargain hunters.

An army disposal unit from nearby Plymouth was called, but fortunately they quickly discovered that the bomb no longer posed a threat.
