Archaeological dig uproots Sheffield car boot sale

An archaeological dig taking place in the Smithfield Car Park in Sheffield city centre means that the regular car boot sale held on the site will be run from a temporary home for four weeks.

From Sunday the 21st of January to Sunday 11th of February 2007 inclusive, the car boot sale will take place in the Eyre Street Car Park which is also in the city centre (located behind Decathalon sports shop on Eyre Street).

The price of a pitch will remain at £8 per car, but no vans will be allowed onto the site. It will open to traders and the public at 7am and Sheffield Markets staff will be on-site to direct cars as usual.
